Our Inpatient Program is designed to stabilize individuals in preparation for transition to continued treatment in an outpatient setting. Located in a secure, 22-bed psychiatric unit located on the third floor of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center, the inpatient unit is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To help patients continue to build upon the progress made while in the hospital, comprehensive individual discharge planning is a part of each patient’s program. Taking into account the patient’s level of functioning, life experiences and personal needs, every effort is made to ensure a smooth return to family life, work or school, and the community. Linkage with our outpatient program and aftercare programs helps maintain the progress made during hospitalization and reduces the likelihood of readmission.
Patients admitted to our inpatient unit must be at least 18 years of age and meet the following criteria:
- Evidence of danger to self and/or others
- Self care deficits
- Medically stable
- Psychiatrist acceptance of patient
- Mental or emotional deterioration
Our Outpatient Program provides the most up-to-date behavioral health services in the Illinois Valley. Our programming utilizes individualized, structured treatment programs designed to foster independence and build self-esteem and coping skills while improving relationships with families and peers. We provide the least restrictive environment possible and focus on targeted outcomes, emphasizing goals identified by our patients and their families.
Our outpatient clinic is located on the campus of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center at 1207 Starfire Drive.
PHP & IOP
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) are short-term outpatient programs designed specifically for patients who are experiencing behavioral or emotional problems. While patients in these programs do not require inpatient hospitalization, the PHP and IOP are more intensive than traditional outpatient programs and are designed to achieve short-term stabilization and resolution of immediate problem areas.
PHP and IOP are offered Monday thru Friday at the outpatient clinic located on the campus of OSF Saint Elizabeth Medical Center at 1207 Starfire Drive. In this setting, patients in PHP and IOP are provided intensive treatment among a therapeutic community of peers. Group therapies are used to promote coping skills, stress management, goal achievement and treatment compliance.
Patients eligible for PHP and IOP have acute symptoms of depression and/or anxiety, may be at risk for hospitalization, or may be “stepping down” from an inpatient stay.
